Three charitras

Three stories, three forms of the Mother

Chapter 1

Prathama Charitra · प्रथम चरित्र

Maa Mahakali

While Lord Vishnu slept on the cosmic ocean, two demons, Madhu and Kaitabha, rose from his ear and attacked Brahma. Brahma prayed to Yoganidra, the Goddess of divine sleep. She withdrew from Vishnu, who awoke and defeated the demons.

✨ When the inner divinity is asleep, small problems grow into demons. Awareness wakes the strength already within you.

Chapters 2–4

Madhyama Charitra · मध्यम चरित्र

Maa Mahalakshmi

The buffalo-demon Mahishasura drove the gods out of heaven. From the combined anger and radiance of all the gods arose the Goddess, holding the weapons each one gave her. Riding her lion, she defeated Mahishasura, and the gods sang her praise.

✨ When all our good qualities come together, they become a power that no single obstacle can stand against.

Chapters 5–13

Uttama Charitra · उत्तम चरित्र

Maa Mahasaraswati

The demon brothers Shumbha and Nishumbha conquered the three worlds. The gods praised the Goddess who lives in all beings, and she appeared as Kaushiki. She destroyed Dhumralochana, then Chanda and Munda (through Kali, who became Chamunda), then Raktabeeja, whose every drop of blood created a new demon, and finally Shumbha and Nishumbha. The book ends with her blessings to the king and the merchant.

✨ Some troubles multiply like Raktabeeja when we fight them the old way. The Mother teaches us to take them at the root.
